Tim Spurlock - Program Manager, Global Antiterrorism Training Assistance (GATA)

Tim Spurlock is a highly experienced Program Manager with a special focus on the Department of State Global Anti-Terrorism Training and Assistance Program (GATA). In his role, Tim oversees, manages, and executes two crucial task orders, namely East Asia Pacific (EAP) and the Special Program for Embassy Augmentation Response (SPEAR).
With an impressive background, Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physiology from the esteemed University of Missouri. In addition to his academic achievements, he has obtained numerous certifications from prominent organizations such as Law Enforcement, Red Cross, Department of Defense, Department of State, and Department of Justice.

Tim's career in the law enforcement community spanned over two decades, during which he served as a commander in a large metropolitan city before transitioning into international contracting. In 2005, he joined the Department of Justice International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program as Chief of Operations, contributing significantly to the program's success. Later, he accepted a pivotal role as a Senior Police Manager with the Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement under DynCorp.

Continuing his commitment to enhancing global security, Tim ventured into the Department of Defense as a Senior Police Advisor and Law Enforcement Professional subject matter expert. Throughout his career, he worked closely with prestigious divisions such as the 82nd Airborne Division, 101st Airborne Division, and the 10th Mountain Division, lending his expertise for one-year intervals with each.

In 2011, Tim seized the opportunity to join the Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement as a direct hire 3161 Senior Police Advisor, where he excelled until the program's conclusion. Subsequently, he joined IDS International in 2015 as a Project Manager for the Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Flexible Implementation Assessment Team (FIAT) Monitor and Evaluation Program. Notably, Tim remained a valuable asset to the program until 2022, consistently demonstrating his proficiency and dedication.

Having spent over seventeen years working in challenging and high-risk environments internationally, Tim has been entrusted as a subject matter expert by the Department of Defense, Department of State, and Department of Justice. His invaluable contributions in countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan have significantly contributed to global security efforts.
